Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the US Open match
Andrey Rublev
Rublev enters the US Open on an upward trajectory. The Russian tennis player skipped the Olympics to adjust to the North American courts, and it has paid off. Rublev has managed to stay consistent, achieving at least two wins in three consecutive tournaments and reaching no less than the quarterfinals in Montreal and Cincinnati.
Arthur Rinderknech
Arthur Rinderknech consistently shows a respectable level of play, but he always falters against high-level opponents. This pattern is evident even in the North American stage of the season. The Frenchman defeats clay-court specialists and players outside the top 50, but folds when up against the likes of Hubert Hurkacz or, say, Andrey Rublev.
Andrey Rublev - Arthur Rinderknech Prediction
Against top 10 players, Rinderknech has suffered 11 defeats in 11 matches with an overall set difference of -19. Rublev, who has just found his form, cannot afford any slip-ups.
