A heartbreaking defeat for Argentina. They conceded an unnecessary penalty in the last minute of the match, just 10 metres in front of their goal. Missing such a kick at the Rugby Championship level is almost impossible. Lock Pedro Rubiolo will not recover in time from the concussion he suffered early in that game. Potentially replacing him is Matías Alemanno. This is one of several changes in Argentina’s lineup ahead of the fourth round.
Australia
A long-awaited victory in the Rugby Championship should boost Australia's morale. Before the game in La Plata, the Wallabies had lost five consecutive matches in the Southern Hemisphere championship. While not all issues have been resolved, they managed to show good possession in attack, scoring two tries. This is doubly impressive, considering the match was played in heavy rain with gusty winds. Such difficult conditions took a toll, too. Injuries will sideline fly-half Noah Lolesio and fullback Tom Wright. They will be replaced by Ben Donaldson and Max Jorgensen.
Argentina - Australia Prediction
Unlike the previous week, the weather in the Greater Buenos Aires area is expected to be dry, allowing both teams to showcase more constructive play. We can anticipate a fair number of tries, given that both teams have defensive issues. Therefore, we are confident that the total points will exceed 48.
