Arsenal
At the start of their American tour, Arsenal beat Bournemouth and Manchester United (both 2-1), but then lost to Liverpool (1-2). Riccardo Calafiori, one of the biggest stars from Euro 2024, hasn't played for Arsenal yet but might start against Bayer. Mikel Arteta still wants to use his attacking strategy, he wants everyone to press and attack both through the wings and the middle.
Bayer
After Bayer's amazing season, there were rumours that coach Xabi Alonso might leave, but he stayed for one more year. In friendly matches, they beat Essen (2-1) but couldn't win against Lens (2-2). Only Alejandro Grimaldo, who won Euro 2024, is missing, while Florian Wirtz and Robert Andrich are back from rest and played in the friendlies. It's good for Bayer that new players Martin Terrier (who scored against Lens) and Grimaldo are learning the coach's system.
