Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Arsenal are still mathematically in the title race, but it feels more like a formality. Even if they run the table from here, they’d still need Liverpool to drop at least 12 points. Fulham, meanwhile, have a more realistic shot at the Champions League places — but they can't afford to squander many more points. The problem? They now face Arsenal.
Arsenal
It’s a dilemma for both. Arsenal currently sit second, four points clear of Nottingham Forest. That cushion could’ve been bigger if not for recent stumbles — a 0:0 draw with Nottingham Forest in Matchday 28 and a 1:1 draw with Manchester United. Still, the team bounced back just before the international break with a 1:0 win over Chelsea. Even with a depleted attacking line, Arsenal’s defensive unit remains sharp — all of their last five league games have gone under 2.5 goals.
Fulham
Fulham are just four points off fourth and three behind fifth — both positions that lead to the Champions League next season. They’ve managed to climb the table, but consistency remains an issue. While they impressed with a win over Tottenham Hotspur in Round 29, their form remains shaky — two defeats in the last three league games and a damaging 0:3 thrashing at the hands of Crystal Palace in the FA Cup quarter-finals, where Marco Silva fielded a near full-strength line-up. Fulham have now seen under 3.5 goals in each of their last 11 matches.
Arsenal vs Fulham Prediction
Arsenal get a big boost with Bukayo Saka returning from a hamstring injury sustained in December. His presence adds precision and punch to the right flank. Jurrien Timber is also back after missing both Nations League quarter-final ties with illness. Arsenal, even with rotation or some rust, should still be able to grind this one out — and likely keep it tight.
