Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
The clubs find themselves at opposite ends of the table and experienced contrasting fortunes in the last round of fixtures. Everything seems straightforward, which makes selecting a bet more challenging as finding the right balance between risk and return is essential.
Arsenal
Arsenal faced Crystal Palace twice in four days, winning on both occasions and scoring at least three goals each time (3:2 in the League Cup and 5:1 in the Premier League). However, they lost a key player for several weeks. Bukayo Saka was substituted in the 24th minute of the second match, but not before providing a crucial assist for the opening goal. While his absence may impact their goal-scoring in future fixtures, it won’t be noticeable against a struggling side like Ipswich Town, given Arsenal's formidable squad.
Ipswich Town
Ipswich Town are already in a precarious position (19th place), and now they've lost a pivotal midfielder, captain Sam Morsy, due to yellow card accumulation. On a brighter note, their top scorer, Liam Delap, with six goals, returns after a similar suspension. Nevertheless, it is unlikely to help them secure points against Arsenal, as their record against top clubs only spells defeat. The question is by how many goals will they lose, or how many will Arsenal score?
Arsenal vs Ipswich Town Prediction
Against Liverpool and Manchester City, Ipswich Town lost by a minimum of two goals, but Newcastle United eclipsed both by winning by four goals (4:0). The safer bet is to back a win for Arsenal, coupled with the expectation of a high-scoring affair: Gabriel Jesus is in blistering form, and Liam Delap isn’t to be underestimated either.
