For the first time in a long while, Arsenal is almost the main contender for the Premier League championship before the start of the season. In their first match against Wolverhampton at Emirates, the team will try to make a statement. Luckily, all their star forwards will be there.
Arsenal
In defence, we might see Riccardo Calafiori, as Arsenal wanted to slowly bring him into the lineup. This is because three defenders (Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurriën Timber) are having health issues. After returning from the US tour to London, the team beat Lion (2:0) and Bayer (4:1). Interestingly, the centre-midfielders Gabriel Magalhães and William Saliba scored from the set-pieces against Lion, showing that any Arsenal player can be dangerous.
Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton ended last season with three losses in a row with a total score of 2:10, including an away game against Manchester City (1:5). However their pre-season went well, they managed to beat West Ham (3:1) and Leipzig (3:0), though losing to Rayo in a friendly (0:1). It’s worth noting that Wolverhampton has many team problems with forwards Matheus Cunha, Sasa Kalajdzic and Daniel Podence at risk of missing out.
Arsenal - Wolverhampton Prediction
After selling Pedro Neto, Wolverhampton haven’t found a proper replacement for their main winger. At the Emirates, Arsenal should successfully handle their first test of the season, especially considering they’ve won their last six matches against Wolverhampton.
