Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Cincinnati match.
Arthur Rinderknech is enjoying one of his most notable spells in recent seasons, having already beaten two top-20 players this year, including Casper Ruud. However, his next test is a tougher one — facing Félix Auger-Aliassime, who convincingly beat him on grass in Mallorca earlier this summer.
Arthur Rinderknech
Since July, Rinderknech has advanced beyond the third round only twice, losing 75% (six of eight) of matches at this stage. The issue has been coping with stronger opposition, and in Cincinnati he took advantage of out-of-form opponents in Nuno Borges and Casper Ruud. His serve has been inconsistent — just 64% first-serve accuracy and nine double faults across his two matches so far.
Félix Auger-Aliassime
Auger-Aliassime, meanwhile, has been strong against players outside the top 50 this season, winning 67% of such matches on hard courts (10 of 15). He started his Cincinnati campaign impressively against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, landing 79% of first serves, firing 14 aces, and committing just one double fault. The Canadian already beat Rinderknech in straight sets in Mallorca (7:5, 6:3), and his chances look even stronger on hard courts — especially given his title run in Adelaide earlier this year.
Arthur Rinderknech vs Félix Auger-Aliassime Prediction
With Rinderknech still struggling to compete with higher-ranked opponents, Auger-Aliassime should be able to dictate play and win with a comfortable margin.
