Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Roland Garros match.
Aryna Sabalenka continues to validate her position as the world number one and a leading contender for the title in Roland Garros. En route to the third round, she eased past Kamilla Rakhimova and Jil Teichmann without much resistance. Her next opponent, however, is Olga Danilovic, who is enjoying one of the best runs of her career and consistently producing strong performances on the Roland Garros clay.
Aryna Sabalenka
Arina Sabalenka has won 15 of her last 16 Grand Slam matches and has reached at least the quarter-finals in each of the last nine majors. In Paris, she advanced through the first two rounds with minimal effort, conceding just five games across both matches. In those contests, she won an average of 71% of her first-serve points and hit a total of seven aces. So far in 2025, she has recorded 36 wins from 42 matches, with all six defeats coming against players ranked in the top 25. She has shown no issues asserting her dominance against lower-ranked opponents.
Olga Danilovic
Olga Danilovic, meanwhile, has been a standout performer and appears comfortable on clay. The Serbian has won four of her six matches on this surface, and at Roland Garros she holds an impressive record of eight wins from nine matches. In 2025, she defeated Leylah Fernandez (6:3, 6:1), and edged past Danielle Collins in a gritty three-set encounter (6:4, 3:6, 6:4). A notable betting trend also works in her favour: she has covered the +6.5 games handicap in 15 consecutive matches at the French Open. In her only previous meeting with Aryna Sabalenka, she lost by a margin of six games.
Aryna Sabalenka vs Olga Danilovic Prediction
While Aryna Sabalenka is the clear favourite heading into this clash, Olga Danilovic has consistently demonstrated her strength on clay and her ability to trouble higher-ranked opponents. The Serbian is expected to offer resistance and avoid a one-sided result.
