Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
AS Roma's humiliating defeat to Fiorentina (1:5) nearly resulted in the club's second managerial resignation of the season. Revamped Torino are eager to defeat the struggling side at the Stadio Olimpico and potentially render their former head coach Ivan Jurić jobless; the Croatian left Torino last summer.
AS Roma
In October, AS Roma managed to delight their fans with a win only in the Europa League against Dynamo Kyiv (1:0), where the disparity in team quality was glaringly obvious. In Florence, the team fell apart defensively by halftime when Moise Kean scored twice, and the opponent's xG (4.57) highlighted significant defensive issues. With Mario Hermoso suspended, Ivan Jurić is forced to start Mats Hummels, who had a disastrous Serie A debut, including an own goal against Fiorentina.
Torino
In their last outing against Como 1907 (1:0), Torino clinched their first victory, breaking a streak of four consecutive losses. Even in their setbacks, the team showed promise, scoring in each match and causing trouble for Inter Milan away (2:3). Against the Serie A newcomers, they secured the win with help from substitutes, as Alieu Njie scored the decisive goal from the bench, with Torino generating 1.38 xG over 90 minutes.
AS Roma vs Torino Prediction
Against Torino, AS Roma did not appear as favourites in the previous campaign (1:1 and 3:2). Torino are expected to capitalise on AS Roma's crisis and earn points at the Stadio Olimpico.
