Aston Villa
After wins over Walsall and Spartak Trnava (both 3:0), Aston Villa went to the USA on a tour. They lost all three matches there. But they had new players in the team, Ian Maatsen and Amadou Onana played in a game against América (0:1). Aston Villa will have more players to choose from now. Jaden Philogene did well on loan at Hull, and Emiliano Buendía is back from a bad injury. This will help the team's attack on the sides of the field.
Athletic Bilbao
Athletic Bilbao chose to train at home for the new season. They only played one match against a strong team and lost badly. Sporting scored three goals against them (3:0). Even when they beat Osasuna (2:1), the team made a mistake in defence. After success at Euro-2024, Unai Simón and Nico Williams aren’t back with the team yet.
Aston Villa - Athletic Bilbao Prediction
In England, Aston Villa can score a couple of goals against Athletic Bilbao without much trouble. Athletic Bilbao’s defence is not strong enough yet. They won’t be able to stop Aston Villa.
