Aston Villa
Only Arsenal have won more often (10) than Aston Villa (9) this season. This is one of the reasons why Unai Emery’s side is in the top 4 after 14 rounds. They have created 1,85 xG on average (5th position), but the most impressive is how they use their attempts. Thanks to the skills of Olly Watkins (8+6) Aston Villa have scored 33 goals, with only Manchester City having scored more (36).
Man City
Manchester City have scored a lot recently. However, it doesn’t help them and they lose some points on a regular basis. The games versus Chelsea (4:4) and Tottenham (3:3 have revealed perfectly well the problems the Citizens have in their defensive line. Even the game against RB Leipzig (3:2), that possessed the ball only 32% of time, wasn’t an easy walk for Man City.
Aston Villa – Man City prediction
Bright Aston Villa have a real chance to get some points in this game. Some players won’t be able to help the Citizens. Jérémy Doku (2+5) was injured in the previous game. Erling Haaland (14+4) can be disqualified for his behavior towards the referee of the same game. Rodri won’t be able to help either.
I don’t believe Aston Villa will end this game gaining some points.
