Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Europa League match.
Atalanta
Last Thursday saw Atalanta sensationally beating Liverpool at their own stadium (3:0). This was the biggest loss without scoring a goal for Liverpool under the management of Klopp. However, the English side had quite a lot of attempts, failing to score though (1.63 xG and 18 shots). Defensive line is not the strongest side of Atalanta as they conceded 4 goals in the previous 2 Serie A games against outsiders (Cagliari and Hellas Verona scored two goals each). Atalanta should focus on their attacking line, having Scamacca, who has scored 7 goals in the 9 games, played in spring.
Liverpool
After losing the game against Atalanta, Liverpool suffered another home loss in the match versus Crystal Palace in the Premier League (0:1). The advantage of Liverpool was obvious (2.97 xG, 70% ball possession and 21 shots), but it never helped them. Alisson and Alexander-Arnold are back to the squad along with Jota. Liverpool should score, having these top players.
Atalanta – Liverpool prediction
The English side is unlikely to advance to the semi-finals. However, they won’t let Atalanta do this easily. Liverpool will score, for sure.
