Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Atalanta
It would be unwise to draw sweeping conclusions from this match alone, especially with the international break arriving soon, and the opposition looking far from formidable. Even in a raw line-up and without Ademola Lookman, who has yet to reappear at the club, Atalanta should have too much. The greater blow is the departure of Mateo Retegui to Saudi Arabia, last season’s Serie A top scorer with 25 goals. Jurić does at least have Gianluca Scamacca available, El Bilal Touré has returned from loan, and Nikola Krstović has just arrived from Lecce.
Pisa
Pisa, by contrast, have modest resources. Their most valuable striker is M'Bala Nzola, loaned from Fiorentina and valued at €7 million. Last season, on loan at Lens, he managed just seven goals in over 1,600 minutes. In pre-season the team only scored freely against Serie D side Bra and relegated Empoli (3:2). Even Bayer Leverkusen thrashed Pisa (3:0).
Atalanta vs Pisa Prediction
We expect something similar here. If not an outright demolition, Atalanta should at least secure a comfortable win by a margin of two goals.
