On July 20, the 9th and 12th teams in the world rugby rankings will face each other. Although Australia is only 4 ranking points ahead of Georgia, the Wallabies are the favourites in this match.
Australia had a poor performance in the last World Cup. In their group, they lost to Wales and Fiji, only beating Portugal and Georgia. To be fair, they beat the Lelos easily (35:15). In the first half of this month, Australia beat Wales twice (25:16 and 36:28). Lolesio was Australia's best player in both games. It's likely that Australia will win their 3rd friendly match in July without much trouble, as Georgia has been a comfortable opponent for them - Australia leads 2:0 in their head-to-head series.
Georgia has already played 2 matches this month. They lost to Fiji (12:21) without a chance, but in a close game beat Japan 25:23, even though they were the underdogs against the Brave Blossoms. Last September, Georgia couldn't challenge Australia at the World Cup (15:35). Today, the visitors again have little chance of success.
Australia should easily handle a tough Georgia team. Most likely, they will not just win, but do so by a good margin.
