Austria
Austria quite easily qualified for Euro 2024 along with Belgium, leaving Sweden behind. Last Euro saw Austria reaching Round of 16 to be eliminated by Italy (1:2). There’s no leader in the Austrian squad as Alaba will miss the tournament due to a knee injury. Austria have beaten Serbia (2:1) and ended their game versus Switzerland in a draw (1:1). However, 1.86 xG for both games seems controversial.
France
France set a new record in the qualifying round, beating Gibraltar (14:0). In June, France have played two friendly games: Luxembourg (3:0) and Canada (0:0). It’s hard to say if the side is really ready for the tournament but 1.27 xG against Canada proves that France should use their attempts better. Mbappé and Giroud have no problems, though. Several players have got cold prior to the game, Coman, Upamecano and Konaté are likely to miss the game.
Austria – France prediction
The Austrian unbeaten run is likely to be over. France are highly motivated. The side has many stars in the squad. France are to get their 3rd European trophy. The last one was won 24 years ago. Austria will fail to do anything against France.
