Adam Williams presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
Clashes between Spanish teams in international tournaments always promise intense action and unexpected twists. Can Baskonia put up a fight against the favourites this time?
Barcelona
Barcelona step into this contest in fine form. In their latest domestic league outing, they convincingly defeated a solid opponent in Leima (106:80). Furthermore, in the EuroLeague, they showcase excellent play, driven by a potent offence averaging 85.6 points per game. Their star, Kevin Punter, is second in scoring for the entire tournament, boasting 18.6 points per game with a 62.2% field goal percentage inside the arc and 47.2% from beyond the arc. He was named the EuroLeague MVP for October.
Baskonia
Baskonia started the season brightly, but they've claimed just one victory in their last four encounters. Their EuroLeague campaign is faltering: despite four wins, their offence struggles, averaging only 76.7 points per game. The Basques are clearly lacking consistency, evident in their ability to defeat Milan (88:83) one day, only to fall to Paris (65:67) shortly after.
Barcelona vs Baskonia Prediction
The teams have already faced each other in the domestic league, with Baskonia emerging victorious (93:89). However, the EuroLeague is a whole different level, where mindset, experience, and individual skill take precedence. These attributes clearly favour the hosts. Hence, we believe the Catalans should not face significant challenges in this match.
