Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Barcelona are firmly in the title race alongside Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid, and with this game in hand, they will be desperate to secure all three points to maintain their push for top spot. However, the international break poses a challenge — several players have just returned from duty, and some South American internationals may not be available in time for kick-off. Still, given the gulf in class and form, Barcelona are clear favourites.
Barcelona
Before the break, Barcelona had hit their stride in La Liga, winning seven straight league games — five of those by two goals or more. During that run, they netted 23 goals and now boast the best attacking record in the league (2.77 goals per game). Even with potential absences, Hansi Flick has enough depth to field a dominant side.
Osasuna
Since crashing out of the Copa del Rey, Osasuna have been on a steep decline: five matches without a win, conceding eight goals in that span. Their away form is particularly concerning — just seven goals scored on the road all season, the lowest in the division. With no realistic hope of European qualification and no immediate threat of relegation, motivation is lacking. Their record at Camp Nou is equally dire: four consecutive defeats without scoring a single goal.
Barcelona vs Osasuna Prediction
Despite the fatigue and possible rotation for Barcelona, this remains a huge mismatch. Osasuna’s dismal away form and lack of attacking threat should make it a straightforward evening for the hosts. Back Barcelona to cover the handicap comfortably.
