Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the La Liga match.
Following their sensational 4:2 defeat to Osasuna, the Catalan club had no trouble dispatching Deportivo Alavés with a 3:0 victory. Barcelona continue to pull away from Real Madrid, and this time they face Sevilla that are clearly not in their best form.
Barcelona
Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona excel on both ends of the field. They boast the league's best attack, netting 28 goals with 22.3 xG, and have conceded only nine times with 10.2 xGA. The Catalan giants are rightly considered the main contenders for the title this season, and they are expected to handle matches against opponents like Sevilla without much difficulty.
Sevilla
In the last round, Sevilla narrowly defeated Real Betis (1:0). During that match, they lost their key defender, Tanguy Nianzou, to a needless red card late in the game. This loss significantly weakens an already poor defence, further diminishing the visitors' chances.
Barcelona vs Sevilla Prediction
Barcelona have won the last five head-to-head encounters, with Sevilla managing just one goal across those matches. It's also worth noting that the hosts have become much stronger and more versatile in attack under their new manager. Therefore, we expect Barcelona to face minimal resistance in this match and to secure an easy victory.
