Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the German Bundesliga match
For the first time in a while, Bayern and Borussia Dortmund don’t take part in the German Super Cup. Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart had a strong season last year, but keeping this level will be difficult. However, we know for sure that their head-to-head match will be an open game.
Bayer
In the off-season Bayer had a big success, keeping all top players and signing Aleix Garcia and Martin Terrier. We can ignore the friendly match results, there was just one win in four games, but Leverkusen scored at least one goal in each match. In a friendly game against Betis (1:1), Xabi Alonso started Victor Boniface alongside Jonas Hofmann and Florian Writz from the first minute, they will be the focus from the start of the campaign.
Stuttgart
Stuttgart couldn’t keep their stars, Hiroki Ito, Serhou Guirassy and Anton Waldemar left for the direct opponents. But the newcomer Ermrdin Demirovic is already showing high productivity, the Bosnian scored in the final friendly against Athletic Bilbao (4:0). Sebastian Hoeness will continue to rely on the defensive line with a priority on attack.
