Adam Williams presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
Not long ago, these two clubs were among the EuroLeague’s top six, but a string of poor results and the tight nature of the standings have pushed them into the play-in stage. With just one game to determine who advances and who is eliminated, home-court advantage could prove decisive.
Bayern Munich
The main reason for Bayern Munich’s dip in form at the end of the regular season was the injury to their starting centre, Devin Booker. Fortunately for the squad, he returned in their final game and looked sharp, contributing 15 points and 4 rebounds. However, the key player to watch is likely to be Carsen Edwards. He finished the regular season as the second-leading scorer in the EuroLeague, averaging 20.5 points per game. Last week, Carsen Edwards tallied 26 points against Fenerbahçe Beko and was rested over the weekend — a full week’s recovery should leave him well-prepared.
Crvena Zvezda
The only potential path to success for Crvena Zvezda lies in their defence, but the squad has not been particularly convincing in that department. In two recent high-stakes games, they allowed 89 points to Anadolu Efes and 96 to Panathinaikos. Their away form also raises concerns: across their last six EuroLeague road fixtures, they’ve managed just three victories — those coming against Alba Berlin, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and local rivals Partizan Belgrade, all currently in the lower half of the standings.
Bayern Munich vs Crvena Zvezda Prediction
These teams faced off in Munich about a month ago, and on that occasion, Crvena Zvezda had no answer to Bayern Munich’s explosive offence, losing (82:100). Since then, their defensive displays have shown no notable improvement, giving the hosts a clear advantage as they aim to secure the win and progress to the next stage.
