Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Basketball Super League match.
After dropping the first two games on the road, many had already counted Beşiktaş out. However, the squad responded in Game 3 with a much-needed win to keep their championship hopes alive. The series now stands at 2:1, and the main question is whether the contest will become more competitive or if Fenerbahçe will close it out in front of their home crowd.
Beşiktaş
With their season on the line, Beşiktaş delivered their strongest performance of the series. Guards Auston Matthews and Yigit Arslan combined for 47 points in a clutch win. But does this signify a genuine momentum shift? We’re not convinced. Both players have been inconsistent all season. For instance, Yigit Arslan has averaged just 10.5 points per game during the playoffs. Counting on him for repeat standout performances seems optimistic at best.
Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe looked out of rhythm in Game 3. Nigel Hayes-Davis was limited to just two points, while Errick McCollum added only seven. Despite their top players struggling, the team remained competitive throughout the match. Wade Baldwin IV and Devon Hall each contributed 14 points. It’s also important to highlight that the loss was largely due to a poor opening quarter (9:22). The rest of the game was relatively balanced.
Beşiktaş vs Fenerbahçe Prediction
It’s hard to see Fenerbahçe’s leading players underperforming two games in a row. While the squad has shown lapses in focus during the playoffs, they have consistently responded well after defeats. We expect a similar reaction here.
