Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women's Volleyball Nations League match.
Serbia are going through a difficult Nations League campaign, currently sitting 16th in the group and facing the possibility of relegation. However, the upcoming clash against Belgium presents a genuine opportunity to lift their spirits, as they are also among the underperformers, positioned 14th in the standings. Despite their struggles, Serbia have shown glimpses of quality even against stronger opponents, while Belgium have consistently failed to cope with teams in the upper half of the standings.
Belgium (women)
Belgium have delivered few convincing performances in this year’s competition. Their only wins—against South Korea and Canada—came in five-set battles and stand out as exceptions in a disappointing run of results. Against elite sides such as China, Italy, Poland and the Dominican Republic, the Belgians were unable to win a single set. They have also started slowly in recent matches, losing the opening set in five of their last six outings.
Serbia (women)
Despite eight defeats, Serbia have shown encouraging signs. They have managed to win at least one set in eight of their ten matches so far. Sets taken off top-10 ranked opponents such as Germany, the United States, the Dominican Republic and Poland highlight their competitive edge. Additionally, the Serbians have won each of their last three encounters with Belgium, dropping just one set across those meetings.
Belgium (women) vs Serbia (women) Prediction
Serbia are well placed to take advantage of the struggling Belgian squad. Despite their low ranking, the Serbians appear to possess greater technical quality and squad depth. They are expected to claim a comfortable victory with a margin of at least 14 points.
