Blackburn Rovers
The side is 18th after 28 games in the Championship. Blackburn Rovers are unlikely to be relegated as they’re 8 points ahead of the dangerous zone. The side beat Cambridge United (5:2) in the previous round of the FA Cup. Blackburn Rovers reached the quarter-finals of the tournament to be eliminated by Sheffield United (2:3).
Wrexham
The Red Dragons play in the League Two after being promoted from the National League. Wrexham are currently 2nd, they still have chances to be promoted to League One. The Red Dragons have won in regular time in their three previous games of the Cup. Wrexham were eliminated in the fourth round proper by Sheffield United in a replay (3:3 and 1:3) in the previous edition of the tournament.
Blackburn Rovers – Wrexham prediction
Cups are a place for sensations. I don’t expect one in this game, though. Bluckburn Rovers are unlikely to do something important in this season. They can try to reach as far as possible in the FA Cup. Their opponent is not very strong, they used to play in the National League for many seasons. Wrexham have played well in their home games, but they haven’t performed well in the away games even in their own league.
