Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
There’s no question this is the standout fixture of the round, and the Sunday night slot reflects its importance. The result could prove decisive in determining who — Bologna or Juventus — secures a Champions League spot for next season, with Atalanta unlikely to relinquish their grip on the top three.
Bologna
For most of the spring, Bologna held steady in fourth, only to be dislodged temporarily by Juventus — and now again, following a frustrating 0:0 draw at Udinese. The team pushed hard (racking up 1.64 xG), especially after the break (1.04 xG), but simply couldn’t find the breakthrough. That makes it three dropped points in the last four rounds, a worrying trend even considering a tough recent run that featured Napoli, Atalanta and Inter Milan.
Juventus
Juventus, meanwhile, have found a spark since Igor Tudor took over. In five matches under the Croatian, they’ve collected three wins, one draw and one defeat. However, all three victories came at home. Away from Turin, they were held by AS Roma (1:1) and stunned by a desperate Parma side (0:1) fighting to avoid the drop.
Bologna vs Juventus Prediction
Bologna’s home form remains one of the best in Italy — nine wins from their last ten at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara across all competitions. Even with a hiccup on the road, they’ve shown the kind of grit and consistency that makes them genuine top-four contenders. With Juventus struggling to impose themselves away from home, there’s good reason to back the hosts.
