Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Champions League match.
Borussia Dortmund
The sides had different weekend games. Borussia Dortmund lost their match versus RB Leipzig (1:4), they’re behind the top 4 in the German league now. PSG have ended their games against Le Havre (3:3) but the side has become the champions anyway. The only thing is clear – both teams are focused on the Champions League. Borussia have reached the semi-finals for the first time in 11 years. At least 2 goals have been scored in 9 out of the last 10 games Borussia Dortmund played. Borussia have been performing well in the attacking line, although letting their opponents play too. Sabitzer didn’t play on Saturday. Can and Matsen will miss the Champions League game as they will be suspended. Malen is about to recover, which will be the real help as he’s scored 11 goals and made 1 assist in Bundesliga.
PSG
Over 2.5 goals have been scored in the last 5 games PSG played, with 17 shots on target. Mbappé wants to take the Champions League trophy before leaving the side. He’s the first in the top 5 leagues to score 40 goals in all tournaments. The last Ligue 1 game against Le Havre saw PSG having 2.97 xG and 77% ball possession. PSG will play in the same way in the Champions League too.
Borussia Dortmund – PSG prediction
The sides already played in the group stage. PSG won their home game (2:0), with the game played in Dortmund ending in a draw (1:1). Many attempts on goal were seen in both games. The defensive lines of the sides don’t seem to be perfect now, with the attacking players performing really well.
