Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the EuroBasket match.
The final day of the EuroBasket group stage will take place on 4 September. It opens with a clash between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia, both at 2-2, who will decide in a head-to-head meeting who is more deserving of a place in the play-offs. The stakes are very high.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
After defeats against Italy and Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Greece (80:77). However, Giannis Antetokounmpo did not feature in that game and, without him, Greece pose limited threat. Moreover, John Roberson scored crucial points (18), yet he is averaging only 11 at the tournament, so another standout performance is not guaranteed.
Georgia
Georgia, for their part, recently recorded a comprehensive 93:61 win over Cyprus. Tornike Shengelia and Goga Bitadze combined for 48 points. In addition, Goga Bitadze, together with Sandro Mamukelashvili, controlled the paint, collecting 23 rebounds. The team’s discipline in defence is impressive and it could prove decisive in the battle for the play-offs.
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Georgia Prediction
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s hopes hinge on an exceptional display from Jusuf Nurkić, but the centre may struggle to find his rhythm because Georgia have the tools to contain him. Beyond that, Bosnia and Herzegovina have not convinced, so we are with Georgia.
