Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Nations League match.
A challenging start to the Nations League for Bosnia and Herzegovina continues with a tough test against Germany. The trip to the group's underdog provides useful practice for the German side, who is adapting to playing without their first-choice goalkeeper, with Oliver Baumann and Alexander Nübel set to gain valuable starting minutes.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Friday's clash with Germany will bring to a close a disappointing year for Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have suffered seven defeats in eight matches since October 16, 2023. Last month, the team suffered a convincing defeat to the Netherlands (2:5), conceding a staggering 3.94 xGA from 28 shots over 90 minutes, before sharing points with Hungary (0:0). It's unlikely they will manage a second consecutive solid defensive display, as their opponent's stellar lineup is sure to create numerous chances.
Germany
At Euro 2024, held on home field, Germany nearly knocked out eventual winners Spain in the quarter-finals (1:2 after extra time). That performance solidified their head coach's position, and now it's crucial for them to consistently progress towards the 2026 World Cup. Against Hungary (5:0) and the Netherlands (2:2), the team accumulated a total of 6.74 xG, with the coaching staff effectively utilising the trio of FlorianWirtz, Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala in various formations.
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Germany Prediction
Germany's lethal attack, even with Deniz Undav and Tim Kleindienst in the starting lineup, should comfortably overcome Bosnia and Herzegovina. We’re betting on the favourite.
