Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Nations League match.
In the current stage of the Nations League, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary are unable to compete with Germany and the Netherlands, who have nearly secured their playoff spots. The underdogs are left fighting among themselves to retain their place in the elite division.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
In two recent encounters, the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team couldn't withstand the powerhouses, with the Netherlands (5:2) and Germany (2:1) securing easy victories. The team held their own against Germany on Friday, but the disparity in chances suggested a greater defeat (0.45 xG vs 1.81 xG, and 26-74 in possession). It's likely the team will once again utilise the duo of Ermedin Demirovic and Edin Džeko up front, both formidable forwards who excel in aerial duels.
Hungary
In the Nations League, Hungary have managed just one goal across three matches. Last week against the Netherlands (1;1), the underdogs nearly claimed victory, only for the favourites to snatch a draw while down to ten men. With the support of their home fans, the team registered only 0.35 xG from one shot on target, while the opponents were much more dangerous (0.95 xGA with 16 total shots).
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Hungary Prediction
In September, at the stadium in Budapest, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary (0:0) focused heavily on defence. We recommend considering a total under 2.5 again, as the both teams aren’t expected to charge forward aggressively.
