Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Bournemouth's recent four-goal performance makes a victory seem increasingly likely. However, Tottenham Hotspur's recent dropped points raise questions about their current form. Is backing the visitors the right call?
Bournemouth
Bournemouth scored plenty and secured an away win, but it was against Wolverhampton, one of the league's strugglers (4:2) who made some blunders of their own. Two of the three penalties awarded were completely unnecessary. Ultimately, goalkeeper José Sá was responsible for both. Meanwhile, Justin Kluivert scored a hat-trick, including a penalty. The Dutchman has overtaken Antoine Semenyo in the team's top scorer race, having netted just five. The Ghanaian missed the Wolverhampton game due to yellow card accumulation but will be available against the London side.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham drew 1:1 with Fulham in the 13th round, despite creating less than their opponent: 0.78-1.58 in xG, 8-14 in shots, 3-6 in shots on target. Against AS Roma, it was the opposite, as Tottenham created plenty (3.74 xG) but didn't manage a third goal (2:2), although the Roman goalkeeper was the hero with nine saves. It's worth noting that Brennan Johnson has started scoring again—three consecutive club matches since the tournaments resumed, and four if you include matches for Wales. He now has six goals in the Premier League and ten across all competitions.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction
Betting on a total over 2.5 goals is definitely an option for these clubs. For Bournemouth, this bet has come through in all four of their November matches, and for their opponent, in the six games before Fulham. We're also confident that Tottenham's attacking potential will help them secure at least a draw.
