Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Bournemouth have climbed back into the European spots, moving up to fifth place. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton suffered a defeat in the previous round but remain just above the relegation zone in 17th place.
Bournemouth
Bournemouth's rise from seventh to fifth was aided by an away win against Southampton, combined with defeats for Chelsea and Newcastle United. They are now just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City, meaning they could potentially overtake the reigning champions by the end of Matchday 26—especially with Manchester City facing Liverpool. Bournemouth’s latest victory was achieved with ease, scoring three goals despite generating only 1.20 xG.
Wolverhampton
Getting a result last weekend was always going to be difficult for Wolverhampton, as they ran into an angry Liverpool side at Anfield. The hosts had dropped points in the Merseyside derby and were looking to make a statement. Wolverhampton were completely overwhelmed in the first half, conceding two goals while facing 10 shots (three on target). They were given more freedom after the break but could only convert one goal from 1.11 xG and 10 shots (three on target).
Bournemouth vs Wolverhampton Prediction
With such poor finishing when given chances, Wolverhampton have little hope of securing a positive result. Bournemouth, on the other hand, have lost just once at home since early December (to Liverpool) and have only conceded more than one goal in that match. Even if narrowly, the hosts should take all three points.
