Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the FA Cup match.
These clubs met last Saturday, when Wolverhampton Wanderers secured a victory away (1:0), so we should not immediately assume that backing Bournemouth guarantees a win.
Bournemouth
That defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers was Bournemouth’s first of two in the past seven days. They subsequently lost to Brighton (1:2), with a goal by Justin Kluivert failing to change the outcome. This result does not indicate the beginning of a crisis for Bournemouth. It should be noted that in the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth played with ten men after their main defender was dismissed after thirty minutes – and only then did the visitors score. Although Illya Zabarnyi was absent for Brighton, the Ukrainian defender is expected to be available for the cup match.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolverhampton Wanderers benefited from their opponents’ lack of discipline. In an evenly matched contest, they even lost to a stronger Fulham side (1:2). Notably, Wolverhampton conceded both goals at the start of each half. They are not performing well enough to win consistently away, which is reflected in their current 17th place.
Bournemouth vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Prediction
Bournemouth may not necessarily win, but they should secure a draw if they remain at full strength. We do not expect more than three goals, as Wolverhampton Wanderers have recorded Total Under 3.5 in 7 out of their last 10 away matches, and Bournemouth have done so in 8 out of their last 10 home matches.
