Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Volleyball World Championship match.
The final matchday of the group stage of the FIVB Volleyball World Championship opens with a fixture between Brazil and Serbia. Both sides are fighting to progress from Group H. The winner of this encounter will be guaranteed a place in the next phase.
Brazil
Brazil lead Group H with six points. The Brazilians underlined their strength in the match against China (19:25, 25:23, 25:22, 25:21). They are showing cohesion in attack, with five players registering double-digit scoring statistics. In addition, the defence was excellent, producing nine block points.
Serbia
Serbia, by contrast, continue to show marked inconsistency. The Serbs also beat China, yet lost to the Czech Republic in straight sets (22:25, 23:25, 20:25). The issues that surfaced during the Volleyball Nations League have clearly not gone away. Serbia have managed only two aces across the tournament.
Brazil vs Serbia Prediction
We should not expect much drama here. Brazil are clear favourites and should collect another victory with minimal fuss. A win in straight sets looks a realistic outcome, especially as Serbia look to have very little chance.
