Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Bryan Mbeumo is set to face his former club Brentford, having already haunted Chelsea earlier this month. The question is whether he can do the same against Brentford.
Brentford
Brentford were their own worst enemy in the last round against Fulham. They actually took the lead after a defensive mistake from their rivals, but their own errors proved decisive. All three goals conceded were the result of poor play – one in the box, another from a midfield lapse, and the third an own goal via a bizarre deflection. Fulham ended up scoring three times despite an xG of just 1.01.
Manchester United
Bryan Mbeumo didn’t score against Chelsea but played a key role, drawing the early foul from goalkeeper Robert Sánchez that left Chelsea down to ten men. Manchester United took advantage, scoring twice, including one from Carlos Casemiro. However, the Brazilian almost undid his work when he was sent off before half-time after a reckless second challenge. Reduced to ten, Manchester United retreated deep in the second half and only a corner goal allowed Chelsea to reduce the deficit.
Brentford vs Manchester United Prediction
Both of these sides are no strangers to high-scoring matches. Brentford’s last three games have all seen the over land, while Manchester United have gone over 2.5 in each of their last four. Their most recent meeting ended in a thrilling 4:3 to the Londoners. All signs point to another open and entertaining clash.
