Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Bristol City return home with a modest haul from the Welsh coast, while Sheffield Wednesday travel with great satisfaction, having claimed the leader's scalp. Will the home advantage be decisive in this new battle?
Bristol City
The team didn’t suffer a defeat away to Swansea City last weekend (1:1), but they fare much better on their home field, Ashton Gate. In their last eight Championship matches there, they haven't lost: six wins and two draws. Additionally, their last six home games have all seen over 1.5 goals.
Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday are the first team to experience victory over league leaders West Bromwich Albion (3:2). Although the win was somewhat unexpected, even at home, their first goal benefited from a deflection, and the second came from a goalkeeper's mistake, allowing the ball to be lobbed over him. Their defence is far from solid, as evidenced by West Brom’s equaliser, but Sheffield Wednesday netted the winning goal in the last four minutes. Away from home, it's a different story. This season, the team have lost all three of their away matches by a combined margin of eight goals.
Bristol City vs Sheffield Wednesday Prediction
Bristol City's home form, coupled with their recent head-to-head dominance at Ashton Gate—winning the last two meetings without conceding—suggests that they will at least avoid defeat once again.
