Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Los Angeles Clippers have finally climbed into sixth place in the Western Conference, though they remain neck-and-neck with the Golden State Warriors. As their road trip continues, they now face the Brooklyn Nets, whom they dismantled by a staggering 59 points earlier this season in Los Angeles.
Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets come into this game riding a five-game losing streak. With no realistic targets left this season, their focus has clearly shifted to the upcoming draft and off-season. The biggest issue of late has been their offence. Over their last five games, the Nets have averaged just 95.4 points — despite facing the likes of the Indiana Pacers, the Toronto Raptors and the Dallas Mavericks, none of whom are defensive juggernauts.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers, by contrast, are in solid form. They had no trouble brushing aside the Knicks at Madison Square Garden (126:113) in their latest outing. James Harden and Kawhi Leonard put on a show, combining for 56 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists. Kawhi, in particular, has hit his stride again, averaging 24.7 points and leading the team with authority. It’s now clear that their midseason stumbles were largely down to his inconsistent form — a problem that’s well behind them.
Brooklyn Nets vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction
With momentum on their side and a place in the top six at stake, the Clippers have every incentive to stay sharp. The Brooklyn Nets, meanwhile, are simply playing out the string. Given how one-sided their previous meeting was (126:67), it’s hard to see this being competitive. Expect another dominant display from the Clippers.
