Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Volleyball Nations League match.
Bulgaria have endured a difficult run throughout the Nations League group stage. While they are capable of delivering strong performances on occasion, these are frequently followed by inconsistent displays. In contrast, Cuba have maintained a high level of competitiveness and regularly pose a challenge to any opponent.
Bulgaria
The squad registered convincing wins over Slovenia (3:1) and Japan (3:0), both of whom are ranked inside the world’s top ten. However, they collapsed in matches against Turkey (0:3) and Ukraine (1:3), sides that sit in the second tier of the international rankings. Bulgaria have also lost their last two encounters with Cuba, including a straight-sets defeat in last year’s Nations League.
Cuba
Cuba are in good form. In recent fixtures, they have defeated the Netherlands, Serbia and Germany, and pushed a strong Argentina squad to five sets (2:3). Overall, the squad has shown a consistently high level of play and are well-positioned to secure a place in the play-offs.
Bulgaria vs Cuba Prediction
Cuba look like the stronger side in this competition and have already demonstrated their ability to compete against elite teams. Bulgaria may offer some resistance, but are unlikely to sustain it across the match. We are backing Cuba to win.
