In their last three games, they have already recorded two emphatic 4:0 wins—first against Sheffield Wednesday and then against Luton Town. The latter have been a favourable opponent for Burnley all season, having already suffered a 4:1 defeat in the reverse fixture. However, the previous meeting with West Bromwich Albion was an entirely different affair, ending goalless at The Hawthorns.

West Bromwich continue to grind out low-scoring results, with all of their last five matches seeing under 2.5 goals. A defeat to Blackburn Rovers (0:2) was the only real setback, while draws against Millwall (1:1) and Leeds United (1:1) highlighted their defensive resilience. Holding the league leaders to a stalemate was particularly impressive, as it ended Leeds' five-match winning streak.
