Bursaspor and Antwerp are preparing for a pivotal match at the start of the new season. The winner will progress to the Basketball Champions League group stage, while the loser will be eliminated from European competition, which would be a major setback.
Bursaspor
In the qualification semi-final, Bursaspor swept aside PAOK Thessaloniki (92:73). The team showcased their attacking strength, shooting 50% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. The standout was the young talent Berk Akin, who scored 22 points. The youngster should only improve from here.
Antwerp
To compete with such a high-calibre opponent, Antwerp must either defend superbly or score consistently on offence. Unfortunately, the squad do neither right now. Not especially attack-minded Pallacanestro Reggiana still converted 48.9% in the paint with ease, and the team recorded only two blocks.
