Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
The Calgary Flames are still mathematically in the play-off race. To keep that slim hope alive, they need to win both of their remaining fixtures. Their next challenge is against the Vegas Golden Knights, the current leaders of the Pacific Division, although recent performances suggest a lack of motivation.
Calgary Flames
The Flames have collected points in six consecutive games, with four wins and two overtime losses. Most recently, they secured a confident 4:2 victory over the Minnesota Wild, who had just welcomed back several key players. Belarusian forward Yegor Sharangovich is enjoying an excellent run of form, scoring four goals in his last three appearances. Young goaltender Dustin Wolf has also impressed, posting a 91.2% save percentage across his previous seven outings.
Vegas Golden Knights
As the regular season nears its end, the Vegas Golden Knights have chosen to rest several key players. It is anticipated that Jack Eichel, Alexander Pietrangelo, Victor Olofsson and Noah Hanifin will all miss out on this fixture. Forward Mark Stone has struggled to make an impact recently, registering just one assist in his last seven games. It is increasingly apparent that the Vegas Golden Knights have shifted their focus to the opening round of the play-offs and are merely seeing out the rest of the regular season.
Calgary Flames vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
These sides met just a couple of weeks ago, with the Calgary Flames narrowly falling short in overtime (2:3). Since then, the Vegas Golden Knights have rested even more of their regular starters and have all but sealed first place in the division. On this occasion, the Calgary Flames look well-placed to take something from the game.
