Cameron Norrie
Cameron Norrie won only 14 games on the hard surface in the previous season, almost twice less compared to the year before. Quarter-finals were a maximum of what he managed to reach, participating in the tournaments with the hard surface. He got into the top 10 in September 2022. Currently, he is hardly among the top 30.
Casper Ruud
Casper Ruud had a 4-hour-long game in the previous round. The Australian player Max Purcell has been performing very well on the hard surface, making his opponents to do their best to beat him. Closer to the fifth set, Ruud started to win some long games, but he failed to use three break points, including his match ball when the score was 5:4. Eventually, the Norwegian managed to win on tie-break (6:3, 6:7, 6:3, 3:6, 7:6).

Casper Ruud has beaten Cameron Norrie three times in the last three years. This season has been perfect for Ruud, he’s won all his 5 matches. No one expects Norrie to reach some high rounds. The last was quite average for the British player, he’s never managed to advance to the fourth round in the Australian Open. Ruud deserves to be the favourite.
It’s going to be a surprise if Norrie manages to eliminate Ruud from the tournament.
