Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Roland Garros match.
Novak Djokovic is closing in on a historic 100th career win at Roland Garros, continuing to cement his legacy as one of the all-time greats. Cameron Norrie, meanwhile, has already exceeded expectations by reaching the fourth round, but taking on the defending champion looks a step too far. With a potential clash against Alexander Zverev on the horizon, Novak will be keen to wrap this one up swiftly.
Cameron Norrie
Norrie impressed with a gutsy five-set comeback win over Daniil Medvedev in the opening round, recovering from 3:5 down in the decider. He then cruised past Emilio Gomez (No.144) and Charles Broom (No.55) without dropping a set. However, even in those matches, Norrie’s serve wobbled — he was broken six times by Medvedev and four more against Broom. Historically, he’s struggled badly against top-10 players at Slams, losing all eight of his previous matchups.
Novak Djokovic
Djokovic is building serious momentum. He’s on a seven-match winning streak on clay, including his title run in Geneva. At Roland Garros, he’s yet to drop a set, winning all his matches with a margin of at least eight games. The Serbian maestro is averaging seven aces per match and has been clinical behind his first serve (65% accuracy and 78% points won). He also owns a 5-0 record against Norrie, conceding only two sets across those meetings.
Cameron Norrie vs Novak Djokovic Prediction
Djokovic holds a psychological and tactical edge over Norrie. His return game, court IQ, and ability to raise his level in key moments make him a nightmare match-up for the Brit. Norrie’s game simply doesn’t possess the weapons to trouble Novak, especially on clay.
