Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Wimbledon match.
Cameron Norrie returns to the All England Club with home support behind him, but he arrives with a concerning run of form. While the Brit managed to stabilise his results somewhat in spring, his lead-up to Wimbledon has been far from convincing, suffering early eliminations from both Queen’s and Eastbourne. The defeat to Billy Harris — a player largely active on the Challenger circuit — raised serious alarm bells.
Cameron Norrie
Currently ranked No. 61, Norrie reached the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2022, but since then his performance on grass has sharply declined. Over the past two seasons, he’s lost six of nine matches on the surface. In 2025, he has yet to register a win on grass. The home crowd may provide a boost, but on current form, even that might not be enough to carry him past the opening round.
Roberto Bautista Agut
Roberto Bautista Agut (No. 43) has delivered a solid grass-court campaign this season, posting five wins in eight outings. He reached the semi-finals in Queen’s and followed that up with a quarter-final showing in Mallorca. Along the way, the Spaniard has dispatched strong opponents such as Jakub Mensik (No. 17), Nuno Borges (No. 37), and Holger Rune (No. 8). His Wimbledon pedigree is also notable: a last-16 appearance last year and a semi-final run in 2019.
Cameron Norrie vs Roberto Bautista Agut Prediction
The two players are clearly on different trajectories heading into Wimbledon. Bautista Agut is in fine rhythm on grass, while Norrie continues to struggle. Given the Spaniard’s form and the generous odds, backing him to win makes sound betting sense.
