Chelsea
In matches against Wrexham (2-2) and Celtic (1-4), Chelsea made many defensive mistakes, maybe because the defenders haven't played together much and the substitutes aren't very good. But in the second half, Mauricio Pochettino played a team closer to his best eleven. They had the ball 61% of the time and had six shots (one goal from Christopher Nkunku's penalty). Chelsea will likely play with three defenders again, and the coaches will keep using Reece James in midfield.
Club América
The team is on a short break from their league games. They're in the middle of the Mexican league table with six points from four games. Club América beat Juárez (2-1) with a late goal from Rodrigo Aguirre. The team has good players such as the experienced Jonathan Dos Santos, Javairo Dilrosun and Jorge Mere who played in the Bundesliga (but Mere is injured).

Even though these are friendly games in the US tour, Chelsea fans wanted wins by early August. Chelsea players will be very motivated against Club América because they need confidence before the Premier League starts.
Two years ago in pre-season, Chelsea beat América 2-1. Like then, the level of London club’s players is higher than América's. Chelsea just needs to score when they have a chance.
