Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Conference League match.
Chelsea’s emphatic 3:1 victory over Liverpool on Sunday keeps alive the squad’s hopes of securing a straightforward route into the Champions League. Against Djurgården, Chelsea will be looking to flex their muscles once more; another resounding win would significantly boost their confidence ahead of the European final.
Chelsea
In Stockholm last Thursday, Chelsea were already four goals up by the 65th minute, despite Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer only entering the pitch after the break (4:1). In Sweden, the team generated 2.17 xG and recorded seven shots on target. Their versatile attacking options allowed them to maintain pressure throughout the game. At home, Chelsea have collected nine victories from 12 matches since the start of 2025, frequently scoring three or four goals per fixture.
Djurgården
Following their heavy 1:4 defeat to Chelsea, Djurgården expended considerable energy in a local derby against AIK over the weekend (1:1). Djurgården only managed to inject some urgency late in the match thanks to second-half substitutions. The coaching staff lack the squad depth to make significant adjustments ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge. Djurgården have already likely reached their ceiling in this season’s Europa Conference League.
Chelsea vs Djurgården Prediction
In the second leg between Chelsea and Djurgården, the hosts appear poised for another dominant display. A motivated starting line-up could very well surpass the individual Total Over 2.5 line before half-time.
