Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women's Champions League match.
In the group stage of the current Women's Champions League campaign, Chelsea have not been showcasing their full attacking potential. The encounter in Glasgow against Celtic (2:1) resulted in a narrow victory for the British side, and in the home match, they are unlikely to exert maximum effort, especially since there's no threat to their lead in the group.
Chelsea (women)
It seems the coaching staff aimed to manage their workload last week, as on Saturday, Chelsea also faced Manchester City (2:0). All the key players featured for them in that match, with two substitutions made right at the end. It appears the coaching staff will rest some players, especially given the noticeable class difference in Glasgow (11-2 in shots).
Celtic (women)
At home, Celtic gave their best against Chelsea but were still far from securing any points. They led for six minutes following Chloë Agnew's goal, but ultimately managed only three shots. On Sunday, Celtic lost the derby against Rangers (2:3)—in London, they will likely set up a solid block in their penalty area and attempt to close off space against the favourites efficiently.
Chelsea (women) vs Celtic (women) Prediction
An advantage for Celtic will be the suspension of Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones, who received a red card in the 95th minute of the third round. Without her, Chelsea are unlikely to take risks in attack, so we're opting for a total under.
