Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
The Calgary Flames recently overcame the Los Angeles Kings (2:1), but now face an away challenge. They're immediately touted as favourites for this encounter, but the Flames often struggle on the road. Will they manage?
Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks sit at the bottom of the league with 30 points from 43 games. So why wouldn’t they manage? While they perform slightly better at home (9 victories out of 14 total wins), they have secured only two wins in their last six outings at the United Center. Three of these four defeats were decisive, conceding five goals and scoring no more than two. This accounts for their recent 2-8-0 stretch. Their scorers, Connor Bedard (11+27) and Teuvo Teräväinen (10+20), rack up points in nearly every game, yet lack support.
Calgary Flames
The victory over the Kings was on home ice, but the win before that was away against the Anaheim Ducks in overtime (3:2 OT). The Flames may not score heavily, but it sustains a playoff-worthy pace (5-3-2). Their away record remains negative (6-8-4), although recent performances (3-1-0) have levelled it out somewhat. An eight-game winless streak is now behind them.
Chicago Blackhawks vs Calgary Flames Prediction
The overall reliability of their goalies (2.98 goals per match) should enable the Calgary Flames to capture this victory even with a modest goal count. To play it safe, we'll go for a neutral handicap in favour of the visitors.
