Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
The Chicago Blackhawks are winding down their season, picking up points only sporadically, and have struggled against the Seattle Kraken. Meanwhile, the Kraken remain in the playoff hunt and have built strong momentum, earning points in three straight games. It’s unlikely they leave the Blackhawks empty-handed.
Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks sit at the bottom of the Western Conference. Their last four games have all ended in defeat, with three of those losses coming by at least two goals. Their recent road trip was particularly disappointing, including a defeat to the league-worst San Jose Sharks (2:4). Defensively, the Blackhawks are among the weakest teams in the NHL, ranking 30th in goals conceded per game (3.54). Their offence is also struggling, scoring just six goals in their last four outings, with top forward Connor Bedard managing only one assist in that span.
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken have stepped up in their playoff chase and are in excellent form. They’ve taken seven points from their last five games, securing wins over the Utah Hockey Club (4:2), the Philadelphia Flyers (4:1), and the Montreal Canadiens (5:4 OT). Defensively, the Kraken have been solid, conceding just four goals in their last two outings, including holding the league’s second-best attack (the Winnipeg Jets) to only two goals. Offensively, they’re improving, averaging three goals per game, while Chandler Stephenson has recorded points in five consecutive matches.
Chicago Blackhawks vs Seattle Kraken Prediction
The Seattle Kraken are in far better form and still fighting for a playoff spot, whereas the Chicago Blackhawks are struggling even against bottom-tier teams. History also favours the visitors, as the Kraken have won three of the last four meetings between these teams. Given the gap in quality and motivation, backing the Kraken for the win is the best choice.
