Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2023 Scottish open snooker match.
Chris Wakelin
Chris Wakelin beat Un-Nooh without any significant problems in the previous round (4:2). Wakelin is quite a dangerous and good player. He occupies 22nd place in the world rating. He’s seen rise and fall in his career. He’s always been considered a good average player who is not a contender for something big. He would reach pretty far stages on main tournaments before meeting someone from the top 16. Then he would face problems. Today is not about that, though. His opponent fits well to advance.
Sam Craigie
He left no chance to his Chinese opponent in the previous round (4:0). Although, the Chinese have a higher rating. Craigie never minds getting into a struggle. Even if he’s losing, he will be a problem. The brightest example is the game that took place 3 days ago. Craigie made a small sensation by beating Mark William (4:3). This is a very stubborn player who never gives up without fighting.
Chris Wakelin – Sam Craigie prediction
I intended to bet on Chris Wakelin, but, considering the way Sam Craigie has been playing in this tournament, I decided to give up this idea. I would suggest that it’s going to be a long game of 2 unyielding players. I bet on over 5.5 frames.
