Coventry City
Coventry have won four consecutive matches, climbing into mid-table, but they lost their last league fixture against Leeds United (0:2) – not a major setback given how many teams struggle against them. Last Saturday, they suffered a 1:4 defeat to Ipswich Town in the FA Cup, though that competition was never their main priority. The key takeaway is that Coventry have avoided defeat in seven of their last eight home matches, often against teams of a similar level to Queens Park Rangers.
Queens Park Rangers
Queens Park Rangers have been slightly less consistent, winning three of their last five league outings. Crucially, they did not crumble after back-to-back defeats and quickly returned to winning ways. At home, they showed resilience against Blackburn Rovers, retaking the lead after conceding an equaliser (2:1). However, away performances remain a concern – even during their recent resurgence, victories on the road have been rare. In their last eight away matches, they have won just twice, and those wins came against struggling sides in Plymouth Argyle (1:0) and Hull City (2:1). Another notable trend is that only one of these eight matches exceeded the 3.5-goal mark.
