Last season the team won Serie B convincingly and returned to the top flight. Their away record is particularly strong, with 11 wins and five draws in 19 matches. The club retained key players and added depth in the transfer window. Sassuolo Calcio are comfortable conceding possession and playing on the counter, and they are dangerous in counter-attacks, which makes them a difficult proposition for the hosts. Recent history also favours the visitors: they avoided defeat on their last three trips to Cremona, and the most recent Serie A meeting finished in a 3:2 win for Sassuolo Calcio.
